Description Frankincense – Somalia 1st Choice Frankincense, also known as Olibanum, is an aromatic resin obtained from Boswellia trees in Somalia. It has been traded across the Arabian Peninsula, North Africa, and Somalia for over 5,000 years. Frankincense is valued in perfumery, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and aromatherapy. When burned on charcoal, this resin releases a balsamic-spicy aroma with a subtle lemon note and a conifer-like undertone. Traditionally, it has been used in aromatherapy to lift the mood and promote a sense of well-being. Frankincense has a long history in religious and spiritual practices.
